Book Exhibitor Information
Welcome to the GSA Site for Book Exhibitors at the Twenty-Ninth Annual Conference! We hope that this improvement in our communication with Book Exhibitors will be useful for you, and we invite you to give us some feedback. Among the changes will be online registration for Book Exhibitors for the FIRST TIME. Alas, we still do not accept American Express cards. But, we do accept Visa, MasterCard, and, after the new numbers come on, Diner’s Club. What does this mean? It means that Diner’s Club is partnering with MasterCard and all Diner’s Club cards will shortly have MasterCard numbers, so we can accept those. You have noted our hotel. The Service Coordinator at the hotel with whom you will be able to work is Mr. Gregory Roettgers. He is available at groettgers@hiltonmilwaukee.com and he will be happy to assist you in your exhibiting needs. The online registration for Book Exhibitors is not yet available, but will be right here shortly. You will see it here when it is. Please do check back periodically. It will probably be up and ready to go before the end of April, and that is close. In the meantime, permit me to tell you that we expect about 750-800 participants, dividing among Germanists, Historians, and Political Scientists, with some economists, anthropologists, and sociologists. This is the largest conference in the history of the GSA, so you will find us a growing organization with researching and teaching members. The Book Exhibit location is the Empire Room, a large and variously subdivided area with windows and adequate lighting. The location will be announced in our printed program, and it will be seen with signage near the Hotel’s Registration Desk. Our charges are $150 per table, and you will need to order any special services directly from the Hotel and pay them direct for such services. Location of each Exhibitor’s tables within the Empire Room will depend upon the nature of the exhibit. Paying the Exhibitors’ fee on a per table basis entitles you to exhibitors' entrance to the Conference for two persons and to reserve a hotel room at the Conference Hotel at our discounted rate as long as we still have rooms in our block. [Please note that his is not a conference registration, but an exhibitors' registration.] Additional persons are at the rate of $75 each. You are also able to purchase tickets to the luncheons and banquet of the Association. Your setup time will begin on Thursday afternoon, after 2pm. You can open at any time after 3pm. Conference participants may have arrived the night before, but there are no functions until Thursday, and most will arrive after 2pm on Thursday. You may continue to use the room until Sunday at noon. Access should be discussed with the Hotel directly. GSA takes no responsibility for the security of your exhibit, so you should discuss this with the Hotel. You may reach me at thegsa@yahoo.com and I will endeavor to respond as soon as possible, if I am available to e-mail. During the Conference, my representatives who can assist you are Mr. Douglas Easton and Mr. Ramaswamy Vadivelu. Please do not call the GSA Main Office, since we have an answering service for that line. I can respond best by e-mail. With every good wish,
Executive Director of the Association
